Providing dance classes to pupils in both Primary and Secondary Schools has enabled Creative Sparks to work towards one of it’s key aims- widening access to dance and the performing arts. By working in schools we are able to give children from all backgrounds and lifestyle the opportunity to participate within a controlled, safe environment.
We currently have classes running in Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Middlesex with potential to expand in these areas and further.
Benefits for Pupils and Parents:
- Fees are kept to a minimum to ensure everyone can take part.
- Classes held on school site to avoid parents becoming a taxi service!
- Sessions are set around school hours to giving working parents more flexibility. And children are able to join in with more than one activity a night if required.
- Children get the chance to perform regularly throughout the year in end of term displays, School Fates and School productions.
- Weekly classes to ensure children are given the chance to progress and develop their skills. Something that is unfeasible in one off taster sessions.
Benefits for Schools and Teachers:
For schools we understand that it is of utmost importance to make sure that any external companies entering your schools are going to be reliable, safe and have a positive impact on the pupils. To ensure we fit in with your ethos we make sure that we arrange a meeting before classes commence to find out the dos and don’ts of each individual school. We also work closely with the school to make sure the classes are offered to the most appropriate age group.
The set up of these classes are designed to be as flexible as possible and can be arranged to work around the school day. Sessions can be organised before school, during lunchtimes or at the end of the school day. The time and frequency of the classes can be decided by yourselves depending upon what you feel most appropriate for the school.
The cost of the class is payable by each child at the beginning of every term. However, this cost is kept to a minimal amount to ensure that as many children as possible are able to participate and benefit from the classes. Arrangements can be made individually with parents that are unable to pay a full termly amount in one go.
All our teachers are fully qualified and have undergone an enhanced CRB check. The teachers are also trained in health and safety and child development to help equip them thoroughly for working within a school environment. The classes aim to create a relaxed and enjoyable learning atmosphere that is achievable for all. The physical and energy-filled classes can also be used by the school as a means to promote a healthy lifestyle, a topical issue that is frequently raised for children.
exercise every week, and in the best way possible- dancing!”
